Droid X's Android 2.2 Leads To Problems - Time stamp glitch, SMS issues abound

Apparently there was a reason it took a while for Android 2.2 to come to the Droid X - there were problems related to the new operating system. Now that it's finally out, unfortunately it appears some bugs still made it through.

Motorola's support forum has lit up from people who've said their SMS time stamps are messed up. Apparently Android 2.2 began rearranging the order of text messages sent to the Droid X and it's causing headaches for users.

But wait, there's more. Some users also say they don't always receive notifications for new texts anymore, and miscellaneous issues are popping up with the Droid X keyboard, such as the display freezing up while entering text.

The Droid X became the last phone with a "Droid" name to receive the update, on September 22. And now it is the only 2.2 device to have these problems.

Motorola has said it's working on fixes to these issues, which will be rolled out through automatic downloads separate from an official Android update. However, the actual update file has not been recalled. Droid X users who are still running Android 2.1 are still being encouraged to update.
