Preferences
To configure preferences, you can click Toolsà Preferences, or press Ctrl+P. There are five tabs, General, Acceleration, Convert, Tivo and Others.
Preference > General
Under the “General” tab you can set preference for lossless output mode and file nomenclature.
When an output file or backup file has already existed in the output folder (usually because you have converted or copied it once or more), there are three customized options.
Rename: Select to rename the present output file automatically to avoid overwriting existing file. The generated name is formed with the existing name and number.
Overwrite: Select to overwrite the existing file.
Skip: Select to skip the conversion of the file with identical name in the output folder.
Lossless Output Mode:
When you split/cut movies on Timeline, you may need to locate every frame and split/cut the scene precisely. Now if you want to make a frame accurate cutting, please make sure you select the first mode, in general, it is selected by default. If you don’t need locate your movie in every frame, only need the Key frame, please select the second mode. The second mode will export movies quicker than the first mode.
Split from the exact frame you choose: Locate every frame of a scene, and let you split/cut the scene with exact the frame you choose, no matter is key frame or non-key frame.
Split from the next GOP: Not focus on each frame, it means that the splitting time point will be located to the nearest key frame. So if current image you focused is not the key frame, you will loss some non-key frame. But it is faster for export than above mode.
Under “Acceleration” tab you can set the preferences of GPU Encode Acceleration and H264 Decoder.
GPU Encode Acceleration: Pavtube Media Magician takes full advantage of the NVIDIA CUDA technology and AMD ® Accelerated Parallel Processing (APP) to largely accelerate video encoding speed. The GPU acceleration saves users time when transcoding/converting/ripping video files from one format to another by using H.264 codec. With a PC running on a CUDA-enabled Graphics card, or an AMD graphics card with AMD APP technology, the conversion speed of Pavtube software is about 6X faster than before.
If you are using a CUDA-enabled Graphics card, the CUDA button will be lighted, and you can choose the Enable NVIDIA CUDA Acceleration option. If not, the button and option will be grey.
If you are using an AMD graphics card with AMD APP technology, the ATI button will be lighted and you can choose the Enable AMD APP Acceleration option. If not, the button and option will be grey.
H.264 Decoder Option Boxes

(2). System Decoder: Give the slower decoding/encoding speed, any computer can use it.
