Edit OBS Recordings in Davinci Resolve

More and more people tend to record gameplay videos or some other videos with OBS for uploading to Youtube to show the skills or increase fans. To attract more audience, many would edit the OBS recordings in Davinci Resolve to make the video more attractive. But it won't be smooth to import OBS recordings to Davinci Resolve for editing.

OBS has hardware encoding and x264 encoding, both gives 8 bits output (as of OBS 17.0.2), making HDR somewhat impossible. As for the encoding, NVENC H.264 has a lossless Rate Control option, x264 has a CRF option. Audio is in AAC format by default. Then you have a compressed MP4 format video. However, like most programs  Resolve does not like the MP4 files created by OBS software, refusing to even load the audio section of a clip. And the graphics card you using will also have an influence on the editing OBS footage in Resolve. The better way to edit OBS recordings in Davinci Resolve is to convert OBS footages to DNxHR or ProRes in order to work effeciently in Davinci with a video converter.
