Export Resolve file to 4K, H.265, H.264

Davinci Resolve is a non-linear editing and color correction software for both Hollywood's elite colorists and normal people. Everyone can try to use it to produce his own film. When created the film with Davinci Resolve, people may want to export file from Davinci Resolve to H.264, H.265 for using. If they imported 4K video to Davinci Resolve for editing, they may also want to export 4K file from Davinci Resolve.

However, it is not a good idea to make a H.264 video firectly in Davinci Resolve and as known so far, we can't export H.265 video from Davinci Resolve. Davinci Resolve gives almost no choices on render-format (except professional formats, which are unusable for the non-profi, we can have only .mov resulting in a not so good final quality with and without applied LUTs). So when you want to export 4K, H.265, H.264 from Davinci Resolve, we suggest you to output ProRes MOV format then convert the export to the 4K, H.265, H.264 video as you need in your favorite video converter of choice.

Part 1: Export Project from DaVinci Resolve

Exporting or delivering in DaVinci Resolve is really easy. You can export the video from Davinci Resolve following the below steps.

1. First thing we need to do is to select the Delivery tab at the bottom of the page

2. At the top left you will have all the exporting options, the first one is “Custom” which is more complicated. Here you can custom your wanted video format and codec.

3. On the main interface, you have two options, Export to YouTube and export to Vimeo, you can export in 720p, 1080p, and 2160p.

4. After you chose your exporting settings, and chose where to export the video you need to click on “Add to Render Queue”.

5. Click on “Start Render” and then you just have to wait until DaVinci Resolve will finish exporting your video.

Part 2: Convert Davinci Resovle Export File to 4K, H.264 and H.265

Step 2: Choose output format

Go back to the main interface. Hit the big "Convert" button to start to convert Davinci Resovle to H.264, H.265, 4K, etc. When the conversion ends, you can locate your video files in the output folder.
