Prores is the lossy video compression format developed by Apple Incorporation for use in post production. On Mac, Apple Prores codec can be produced with Final Cut Pro or Final Cut Pro X. However, we can not use Apple Prores codec on Windows since non of the NLE program such as Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, etc has the capability to produce this special editing codec.
